FPS lag due to onoard sound card [message #345636]

I just solved my FPS drops due to my onboard laptop sound card by buying a USB sound card.

So yes: my problem is solved but I wanted to post it here, maybe it can help other people. I had very small drops at "random" times but always when a "new" sound was played.

It cost me 17,50 €. It has 2 jacks: one for a mic and one for a headphone.

Get a quad core and you don't notice if you're on IRC, streaming media over your LAN and playing ren all at the same time (still 50-75 FPS with an onboard sound card - which is obviously mixing the media with ren's sounds)

<3 quad cores.
