But c'mon, there's like 3 air units maximum in most mods as it is, and only 2 in normal Renegade. A simple scrolling function would do just fine.

Theres only 2 released mods :V
Think about flying units in AR, harrier, chinook, etc etc, and there will be many in BFD. SCUD Storm will, upon next *proper* release, feature MANY air units.
