It doesn't take much to get an STank rush going.
"Hey, everybody! Let's buy the coolest-looking, most expensive tank we can and go blow shit up with it!"
You know that's what the n00bs are really thinking. It's an effective bit of teamplay, but nobody does it because they want to be helpful. They do it because they want to play with the shiny toys. The H-word should only apply to those poor dumb schmucks who repair everything.

I'll take it further than that... I hate people who stop fighting when all that's left is the Ref or the PP. Some of the best games I've played were down to the last structure with basic infantry... and it was truly astonishing just how effective basic infantry can be at holding off vehicles, n00bjets and the like when the team gets together and tries. You know damn well that you're not going to win, but there's a certain satisfaction in making the other team work for it. A lot of players, though, don't consider the game worth playing if they aren't on the winning side, and that's just fucking stupid.

I completely agree. Sometimes when I'm in a game when both barracks and war factory get destroyed, I hear a billion messages pop up on the screen that say "so-and-so" left the game. I actually enjoy fighting battles with a challenge. I have stayed for every game I played and never quit. Seriously. On one battle, where even after our war factory, power plant, and tiberium refinery were taken out, my teammates really gave up a fight. In fact, thanks to a few diligent stealth black hands a little while later, we managed to nuke their power plant and tiberium refinery and eventually we won the game! Amazing! But this rarely happens because people on the losing team give up so quickly. I want to play with some hardcore gamers that fight to the very, bloody end. If your a real hardcore gamer and play Renegade online, please notify me and tell me your name so I'll know that you're a force to be reckoned with.
P.S. I'm a hardcore gamer too. If you catch seeing WolfWarrior2 on Renegade, send a message to me. I'd be glad to be of assistance. By the way NukeIt15, those "dumb schmucks who repair everything" are really beneficial to the team. If you did a battle where no one on your team would repair anything, you'd be as good as gone.

You'd be surprised what kinds of scores you can pull off just repairing. Not as high as if you'd been attacking structures all game, but certainly as high as anybody who's been fighting vehicles and infantry for the whole round. I've finished off games where I was second or third on a team of 16 people from doing nothing but repairing all game. No kills at all, didn't use any C4, didn't pull out my pistol- just used the repairgun. It's all in being the first one to respond and fix anything that needs it. Timing and situational awareness rather than accuracy, precision, and combat tactics- knowing when to stick around the base and when to head out into the field and support the troops.
That, and you get really good at evading incoming fire when you can't shoot back.

It's even more fun when you're actually able to pull off a win when it should be impossible. Although this is more likely to happen in a server that has crates or something similar.
