I've done it before. You just join the same network as your friends and use the LAN lobby to hold games.

Hamachi is a (very small and neat) VPN (virtual private networking) program. Basically, it allows you to create a LAN network over the internet. Using Hamachi will allow you to use any LAN-supported program over the internet, assuming you and your friends are all on the same Hamachi network.

First, install Hamachi. If your friend's haven't already, create your own network in Hamachi. Give it a unique name and password, and tell these to your friends. They will connect to your network via their own installation of Hamachi. From here, all you have to do is use the LAN feature of any program like you would normally. If all parties have Hamachi set up properly (it's quite easy to set up), gaming should go smoothly.

I've used Hamachi for LAN games, as well as to create dedicated servers for other games, and even streaming audio servers.

If you don't want EA to get any credit, destroy their Refinery. Duh.

Be careful about letting strangers into your channel (Or going to unknowns for that matter.) some people likes being fags and send you viruses.

Thus, the reason for putting a password on your network.

Is there like a renegade channel for Hamachi? I think that hack the hacks WOL and makes it open for you to use use's something along the line of Hamachi.

It's possible that there's a Renegade network for Hamachi, as there are Hamachi networks for many games. But really, if you want to play online with random people, the only reason for using Hamachi is if you've got an non-legit serial which would prevent you from playing WOL or GameSpy (or whatever the official online service for the specific game is). LAN modes (mostly on older games, perhaps 2006 and older) aren't affected by serials. I used to install my games on all the computers in my house and break out LAN parties with my friends.

What I should clarify is that when you download Hamachi, it's both the server and the client in one package. With your installation, you can either join a network or create your own (just remember the basic version only lets you create networks with a 16 user limit).

As to the second part of your question, I don't understand.

i don't really like LAN networks. playing with the same gamers over and over and over... barely having any players to start with... and its just plain boring. gamers on LAN networks usually cheat too Huh
