Hi
A friend of mine recently got renegade for the first time ever.
And after he got it installed and ready to go. He wanted to play a private game so i could show him the ropes.
So we both found a small empty server and joined it and i started explaining. And while i was explaining someone joined and started attacking.
After the match was over we both left the server and decided to host a game of our own.
When either of us hosts a game for the first time the other can get in through join buddy. But after that when we look at the buddy list it reads the other is in a chat channel and refuses to let us join the other. Sometimes it just wont let us create at all and reads failed to create channel.
After all that we decided to try a lan game with Hamachi but that wasn't working either. We could see the others game when they were created and highlight them. But when you hit join nothing happens at all.
Oh sorry both online and lan, Run Dedicated server was UN-CHECKED so that wasn't it.
All we want to do is host a game with the two of us so i can show him the ins and outs of the game. How can we do this with what i have told you???

Closing the buddy window and reopening it should fix the one problem or logging in again or another option you could use is, /invite <playername> to invite a person to the server you are currently in and if they aren't currently in a game they should get a popup saying someone's invited them to a game(with the options to join or decline or to page the person that invited them).
If not then just reply back and I'm sure there is something else you can do.

There's some trouble with the invite - option and the budy list but if you go in advanced game listing, your game will show up in that list, so your friend can just double click on it, put the password in and there you go.

When the game is passworded and you use invite, it doesn't work for me.

I tried the invite command the command works but he said it told him he could not join channel. It also still shows each other in a chat room.
And when either of us makes a game it does not show on the server list. We will make it like 2 or 3 max and when you hit the tab for max players. It will re-organize the list so the lowest player server is on top and it is not there.
The only option i can think of is to set up my own fds but for what we want to do that seems like to much work.
