You can't anticipate the shot. This isn't BF1942. Since Renegade is a "click --> Dead" operation, your shot always goes exactly where you fired it. Unless you're a tank or slow projectile. But thats beside the point.

If I'm just playing around and not trying desperately to gun down my opponent, then I simply aim at one spot, and strafe back and forth quickly until I line the head and reticle up. Then I fire. I **always** aim for the head. I don't care if it's an engy with a dismal amount of health left, shooting anywhere else is just lazy sniping. If the guy is on an angle, just move the mouse accordingly. Since you're not pro-sniping, you really shouldn't need the mouse when trying to ding off another sniper -- as long as you time the headshot when your opponent enters the reticle. Remember, I said "time" not "antisipate".

Thats enough for now.

thats the thing that gets me java.... moving side to side real fast. When i do it i dont know if i move fast enough because i always move side to side and i get HS'd al the time. i have my scope on when in long distance sniping like on field does the scope slow you down when moving side to side or what?
another thing is it better to use a scope or no scope at al?? ive heard that i shouldnt from 2 people in one day!! i still use the scope only because im accustomed to it now and i do ALOT better with a scope than without.
oh yeah and another thing java [message #20460] Wed, 14 May 2003 09:43 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Use the scope when you're too far away to actually get a lock on the target. It's doesn't really matter what you do after that. If you have a red barrier around your target, you know where the head is.

With the moving left and right quickly... Make sure your strafe keys are set to "A" and "D" and just hit both quickly when you're engaged. Use cover as you see fit.

my strafe keys are the left and right arrow keys, easier for me to use.. its each in the players hand to set the keys they like. A and D may be better for you Java, but left and right arrows are better for me. And as far as scope, stages like city flying and others like that use a scope, in tunnels or stages u know there will be close combat dont use scope. Levels like Mesa, you can use scope and non scope (like if they are on the hill covering ur base, u can use scope if u know they dont see you) my 2 cents

I was just playing Urban_Rush as GDI and i found the scope quite useful for picking out targets running around in the Hand.

I think scopes are good for a quick zoom on the target once you've picked it out and want the most accurate shot possible. Being fast is critical. Zoom in, shoot, zoom out, move. Of course I'm not professional sniper, just my two cents.

They kill you because they CAN and WILL..only aim for the head, unless a body shot will kill your target.

Control yourself too.

I got questions i think every1 should answer so i get an idea on what to do.

1) Do you use the scope while moving and trying to kill someone??( while playing in open or if you have a long way to shoot ( or any other place doesnt matter ))

2) Do you always aim for the head or just get what you can??

3) also i need EVERY1's opinion on this one Keyboard only or Mouse and Keyboard???????

4) Also Any tips on how to target quiker??? It always takes me a costly 2 seconds to focus on their head and sometimes just on their body.

5) and 1 more last thing Any tips on shooting a jumping and moving person from far away while your moving back and forth side to side?????

Thanx all for any and all tips you can and have submitted!!!!

never use your scope while in combat coz remember, while your in your scopes you walk, your easier to hit.

U can do it but no more then a few seconds.. and make sure they dont see you, just dont keep it on all the time. once u been snipeing for a while, u may not even need the scope for long dis attacks. just takes times.

1) never use scope in battle, while in scope mode your character walks.

2)aim for the head as much as you can

3)keyboard and mouse

4)i don`t really have any tips for that question, you just need to get used to targeting w/o having explosive shells as shooting next to an enemy won`t do shit in sniper games

5)never run in the same direction for too long, this gives your opponent more time to target your path and shoot as you cross their reticle.

¬_¬ Pokemon and snipering just don't mix.

The only true way to get good at snipering is PRACTICE, and in doing that you will find your own way.
