Happy Birthday America, and hell yeah to all you other Amerifags that are off work or just being lazy around the house today. That's what national holidays are for, anyways.
So yeah, go watch some fireworks and eat some awesome food. Don't drink and drive, etc. I'm going to go sleep. (It's 3:30 AM, holy shit.)
yeah

Reason #129 why New Jersey Sucks Eggs: No non-commercial fireworks displays.
*sneaks out back with a pile of non-existent fireworks*
Today is the day to celebrate all the things that make America great, expend lots of pyrotechnics, and of course to open a window and sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the top of your lungs to anyone within earshot while consuming gratuitous amounts of American booze. Fly those flags high!
"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived of the use of them." - Thomas Paine
Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.

I don't see any American's being dicks about it in this thread, so what's up with you guys? I'm not going to crack any fucking jokes when Ireland or the UK is celebrating their birthdays.
Edit: I thought Independence Day was an awesome movie, too.
yeah

How many wars has American won apposed to the United Kingdom, or Britain for that matter?
Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

another day were Americans think they're great, be patriotic, etc.
if you'll excuse me I have 4 beers in the fridge and I plan to get mildly drunk, brb.

Heaven forbid that we actually celebrate the day that our fore fathers decided we had enough of your tyrannical government's oppressive bullshit and ridiculous taxation. Just because you guys don't appreciate liberty doesn't mean that we have to stop appreciating it.
Perhaps, I'm not like most Americans, but I don't view this day to be "patriotic". I view this day to celebrate the principle of liberty and the nation that was founded on that principle. Granted, America has strayed away from that principle a bit, but the point remains the same.
Though, I do understand why you guys resent us. I mean, the colonists were a bunch of disorganized frontiersmen who hunted game and didn't know the first thing about war. Well, some of the commanders did (ie. Washington), but overall fairly ignorant to warfare. Yet we still beat your ass. Yes, the French did help, but only when we started to turn the tide of the war in our favor. Then, when you guys realized just how little help the French were in WWII, it was the U.S. (and Russia) that came to the rescue.
Plus, with the current administration and the arrogance the current foreign policy has would piss me off, as well. Hell, it DOES piss me off.
whoa.
