haha my friend! It's easy...you have to keep jumping around. That's what I can remember when I did. I think I was using a ordinary chaingun all the time. Just hit him in the head.

Are you playing on Easy or hard?
I played the single player on Easy cuz I am cheap like that lol. So maybe that's why I killed the mutant Rave so fast? lol
I pretty much used my rockets and also chaingun. I think the Mutant Rave takes a pause after throwing you I think..NOT sure...that is when you attack it. I think so...am sorry as I played this a while ago.

The key to killing most of the mutants in the game is the flamethrower. Fire slows mutants down. If he's getting too close to you, pull out the flamethrower and give him a thorough dousing. The laser rifle is also handy, since it also burns whatever it hits. The PIC is good to use as an opener if you have ammo for it, since it does a lot of damage in one shot and has no travel time, but do not wait for the reload. Instead, switch to a different weapon after your first shot.

Just shoot at him.
If he picks up the SBH, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY! He'll throw it at you. Use PIC when he has a SBH.
If you are cornered, use flame thrower.
Spam shoot him with whatever if he jumps up on the thingy in middle of room.
you can only kill him when he is up there. Last shot is when hes up there

I personally used a PIC to ruin him.
For normal mutants, if you have no flame-thrower ammo, the pistol believe it or not will take them out quickly.

Just for gits and shiggles, I ran back through SP the other day... and kicked his sorry mutant ass so quickly that it took him a good minute and a half to realize he was dead. He spent most of that time wandering around on the upper walkway and roaring at me as if I was going to heal him or something.
Then the next mission glitched and Mobius ran through the whole map invisible save for his dusty footsteps. Had to reload at the chopper because the mission wouldn't end unless his model was physically present.
So it is entirely possible to kick so much ass that you break the game. lol...
