Cheers for the fast reply guessed it might be something like that but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Presuming its the CD although there are no visible scratches.
I guess I'll have to buy my 4th copy of renegade. In the two copies I had beforehand the disks had managed to crack in exactly the same spot in all 4 disks. I think this game hates me!

If you download Core Patch 2, it includes a no cd crack so you only need your disk to install. But I guess it's your install disk that's broken?

yeah I have one data CD that works. So I'm guessing install would be difficult. I don't know what it is with these disk because the other 2 data CD's and 3 install disks are broken. I have a lot of other games and none of these have broken at all.
