ACDC is one of my favorite bands.

Go to freakin youtube and search for ACDC, you don't know what you're missing.

I'm not going to deny the fact they make good quality music, however, I don't like the music; simply because it's not my taste. It doesn't mean there is something wrong with me or anyone else who feels like this. Saying there is something wrong with the population just because they don't have your exact music taste, is, in fact, what is wrong with people these days.

I don't expect people to share my exact taste. There is just a few bands that I feel everybody should appreciate, but there's plenty more than I don't expect people to like.

However, that still doesn't detract from the truth that mainstream music sucks horribly. You have pop, R&B, rap, pop-punk/emo, punk, metalcore, and every other shitty genre under the sun that's popular with people.

If people are going to listen to a genre, then they should listen to the artists/bands that don't fucking suck. Again, I don't expect people to appreciate all of the bands that I do, but perhaps it wouldn't kill people to listen to the more talented artists rather than what's played on Top 40 radio.

There, I even left your precious electronica "music" out of this by focusing on the mainstream.

Name me a talented rock band that's mainstream? I don't mean mainstream hard rock. I mean the stuff in the Top 40 hits.

Which bands would you qualify as mainstream right now?

Also, you're crazy in the coconut!

U2 hasn't had a Top 40 hit since Vertigo. Muse hasn't had any real hits. As far as Codpiece goes, I stopped listening to them a while ago, so I can't really say much about them.

Oh, and I am talking about US Top 40. I don't pretend to know what's popular in other nations.

What bands do I consider mainstream? I'll just link you to the Billboard Top 100...

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/charts/chart_display.jsp?g=Singles&f=The+Bill board+Hot+100

Besides Country, I can't vouch for any of those artists having talent.

I find it funny that your only Way to determine Mainstream is the american Top 40. But ok, here you go

Muse:
Quote:

The album charted at No. 1 in the UK, much of Europe, and Australia and also achieved American success, reaching No. 9 in the Billboard 200 album chart.

NIN:
Quote:

Branden Lucero wrote in to tell us about NIN's Chart success. I assume these are US figures...

Discipline is #10 on the Modern Rock charts (been i should say), which would make this the 6th consecutive top-ten single. Here's a list i've kept up with for charting positions:

week 1: Modern #25
week 2: Modern #15, Mainstream #33
week 3: Modern #10, Mainstream #30

3 doors down is ranked 19th on that chart, I would definately call them a proper rock band.
