Don't forget Motorhead and Steel dragon. And Iced Earth of course.

Does anyone like Pantera? Anyway, You should check em out.
Some good songs:

Pantera- Cowboys from hell
Pantera- Walk
Pantera- Domination

Death trash is kinda dying, I think. The real death trash I mean. Bands like Overkill and Death. Kreator is changing, It's not the death trash I used to listen to. I mean, Their album Violent revolution isn't the Kreator I used to hear. I liked the old albums though.

Anyway, Does someone have the new cannibal corpse cd; "the wretched spawn"?

Lol, I think you mean death thrash, not trash.

I don't like Cannibal Corpse, for just one reason...their lyrics. Although I put the music in a higher priority than the lyrics, I find CC's lyrics way too mindless for me.

Yeah, I agree though. I think their lyrics goes a bit too far. I like the music alot. Their guitar and bass guitar riffs are so damn good. it's really incredible how fast and good they can play. but, I can't hear what he's yelling through the microphone, So you can't really hear what they are "singing" about.

But they say that the lyrics and the music have to fit. You can't sing about skipping in the grass and sing about ladies with such music. The lyrics and the music have to match... Altrough their lyrics is pointless, well, it has no meaning or anything. It's better than cradle of filth and other black metal bands. yah know, Black metal lyrics is idiot, I think. Praying for the devil and shit like that. Then I prefer death metal lyrics, death metal lyrics is more..uh..., well, it's pointless.

Anyway, I'm more a heavy metal liker. I like alot of music genres. Rock, Hard-rock, Metal, Heavy metal, Death trash, Death metal.

There are some death metal bands that I like, whose lyrics aren't that bloody...namely In Flames and Opeth. Opeth are awesome...their lyrics are incredibly abstract yet presentation, and their music, although adopting a signature style, is very dynamic.

I've only heard the song "Harvest" by Opeth. I mainly stuck to rap and hip hop, but now I'm branching out to Classic Rock. I'll guarantee you I won't go into any darker kinds of music.

I like Money by Pink Floyd:

Money, get away
Get a good job with more pay and you're O.K.
Money, it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and
make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I´ll buy me a football team

Money, get back
I'm all right Jack, keep your hands off my stack.
Money, it's a hit
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit
I'm in the hi-fidelity first class travelling set
And I think I need a Lear jet

Money, it's a crime
Share it fairly, but don't take a slice of my pie
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today
But if you ask for a rise, it's no surprise
that they're giving none away

Well, give "Dirge for November" by Opeth a listen. It has some rather soft spots (beautiful too), and it's got a pretty heavy section in the middle. See if you like that - if you do, you might check out more of Opeth.

You should take a look at the Beastie Boy's "Liscensed to Ill", It has a lot of familiar songs.

(I forgot the name of the singing in "rock" terms, please correct me on that.)

Yes, a huge bump... but I just had to.

To look back at my complete ignorance of Rock is quite entertaining to me. The fact that I still liked rap at that point, and I even guaranteed that I wouldn't move past Classic Rock in heaviness. Well, I was quite the liar, apparently.

The transformation I've made is actually quite amazing. From Rap to Classic Rock, and now a great deal of Rock and Metal along with Jazz, Blues, Swing, and Classical.

I'm all over in what I like. I like Aerosmith, Queen, Black Sabbath, Steve Miller Band, Bob Seger and Silverbullet Band, Eric Clapton (Cream), Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, Eagles, Boston, Led Zeppelin, Foreigner, Journey, Twisted Sister, Styx, Tom Petty, Ted Nugent, Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO), Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), Blue Oyster Cult, and Pink Floyd.

Those are my main groups I listen to. The ones bolded are the most listened to.

"I'm all over in what I like." I acted as if I had a broad taste for rock at that point. Sheesh was I ever naive.

Queen's been one of my favorite bands for the past 4 years. Freddie is up at the top of my favorite vocalists list, along with Mr. Plant.

I kinda started listening to 'rock' when I was a little guy. I was about nine or so, and at a garage sale, I came across a Van Halen cassette; I thought the cover looked cool, and for a dollar of my meager allowance, it was a bargain.

And I've gone downhill ever since. Mr. Green

Yeah, I went from that small list to a HUGE list of bands covering many genres... while seeming to always avoid shitty, mainstream music. I started when I was almost 18, though. I mean, my parents used to listen to it when I was young, then I went to rap at about 13, for whatever stupid reason, and then I got out of that at 18.

Zeppelin, Skynyrd, and AC/DC are still at the top, and the have been for like 3 years. I finally decided to just listen to a lot of Zeppelin yesterday. I hadn't in a while, and it was gooood.

It's cool your parents liked it.

Mine were more than a bit freaked out, but truth be told, anyone younger than 13 shouldn't really be listening to Motley Crue, or any band that abused hairspray anyway.

Well, dad didn't listen to it heavily. It was just on in the car, as he was able to be a teen during the mid-70s.

I think they were more concerned with me listening to rap as a 13 y/o. I'm sure they would have probably accepted me listening to Crue and the like rather than what I did. Seems to me that talking about sex is probably safer than gang violence.

I had most of their discography last year, but I lost it all when I messed with my external harddrive. I haven't been bothered to get it again.
