Frequent Game2.exe crashes [message #328293]

Hello all,

Lately, ever since I started playing Renegade in my Vista rig, Renegade seems to crash unexpectedly. I am not saying it's Vista but it did not happen in my XP rig.

Now the crashes themselves are few...so far I have encountered an average of 2 crashes every 6 hours. The game cleanly shutdowns and I am left staring at my desktop.

I found a "Crashdump" file in my Renegade folder. I have attached it.

Well, the first part goes:

The Renegade Client tried to read from address 6DB630C0 (No Owner)

What gives?

hm, that crash normally happens on game shutdown.
did that happen on a map change? are you sure that you didn't lose connection just before the crash occurred?

No, this happens during gameplay. And this happens on all servers at anytime during the game.

Looks to be a combination between Renegade's, leaky memory allocation/deallocation issues and Vista's memory intensive nature. XP uses far less memory so perhaps we can get away with it. Are you using the latest version of Direct X for vista?
