Last evening I finally tried to clean M02 and M07. Usually I fail at this and so I did this time too. My client crashed down to the desktop after loading the map (which was on the server of course).
Today, the trouble began: I can't host a LAN game anymore -crash to desktop.
I can't play Multiplayer practice -crash to desktop.
The FDS with my new compiled scripts doesn't appear on the LAN listings anymore.
LE doesn't load up. "initializing combat device..." -then crash to desktop.
What I did=
Uninstalled Resurrection from one server. Didn't help, so I cannot blame it on RR.
Uninstalled BIATCH from another server (I had three FDS Installs on my machine). Didn't help.
Removed all Brenbots and the NR. Didn't help.
Uninstalled LE and re-installed it to another destination. Then overwrote the .exe with Jonwils' new one so that it should work like before the crash -gues what? It didnn't help.
Now I removed 3x FDS, the client, LE, the whole mod tools and gMax. Then I fixed the Registry with CCLeaner and Norton Windoctor. Then I defragged C:\.
After this I tried re-installing Renegade. What can I say, it doesn't work! I got screens without any text! I will post a picture later.
Any ideas? Anyone? I'm tired of re-formatting because the rest is running fine.

I got it fixed.
Honestly I don't know what has been damaged but it surely had to be a part of DirectX or the ATI driver files.
What I did to get it fixed: Installed the Catalyst 8.4 after removing the old one (7.11). After the reboot, I updated DirectX to the March 2008 one. And suddenly, everything works again.
