It's not about living in Germany, it's about being german. There is a slightly difference as you can imagine.
The English you learn at school here is just a basic amount to start with. With this level of knowledge, you can hardly survive the everyday life in english-speaking countries.

Surth, I really don't want to defend Mad too much but expecting a perfect English from every german is pointless. After learning the basics at school, it's not a must to study further. Somep people do have their weaknesses in learning foreign languages and other don't. That's life, face it.
On the other side: Of course there is too much 1337 in Mad's posts I agree. But what about helping him to get it better (if he wants to) instead of bashing on him all the time?

For the most part, I'd say it's his fault then for not learning English further.
I'm not saying you NEED to if you live in another country. But, when you come to an online forum where the majority of people speak English, you should probably learn to speak English better.

Yeah, I mean, I took Spanish as an elective for many years, including some exposure during middle school. I even got a 5 on the Advanced Placement Exam (that's the highest you can get), yet I'm nowhere near fluent in Spanish. Fluency, vocabulary, and proper grammar are not necessarily improved through the same type or amount of exposure to the language. It also helps considerably if you start to learn other languages when you're younger, because of various critical and sensitive periods in the brain's development of language skills. If MadRockz tones down the 1337, give him a break on his other mistakes, unless you really can't understand him.

He is active in multiple english forums, thats pretty much enough to learn english actually.
but seriously, i dont even care for his english. whats pissing me off is his constant 1337 talking, his lack of humour and his attitude.

I suppose is it is harder to learn a second language than just that for some people, but the fact remains that the way he talks, is still fairly retarded (Not really counting the poor English, more of meant his attitude).
