Do you CURRENTLY play C&C Generals?[ 28 votes ]
1. Yes 4 / 14%
2. No 24 / 86%

I bought it a couple days ago.

Is anyone playing this game? I played only the demo and I liked it. Does anyone have it installed ready to play? Want a quick game sometimes?

I played the demo, and didn't like it. Never played online once.

Unfortunately I was forced to buy it when I bought TFD. And me, trying to get my money's worth, figured I would at least try it, thinking it "couldn't be as bad as the demo."

Well I was wrong. The single player didn't make sense, the graphics looked like everything was made of paper, and the stupid arrogant attitude the USA had was highly annoying and offensive.

Game play constantly reminded me of Starcraft: from unit functionality all the way down to how the command bar looked and functioned. More than half of the things that made C&C great where gone without a trace, and finally game balance threw me through a loop.

... however, to each their own opinion, I guess. Huh

Thanks for all votes you guys.

Hmmm...not many play.

I like this game TBH. I only played the demo before in 2006. I love the Chinese side and their cute Battlemaster tanks. I think the voice for the Chinese side reminds me of Yuri's Revenge.

Pretty good game. I also installed C&C 3 but it crashed. But it looks like it is built on the same Generals engine. Is it true?

They both use the SAGE engine, but it was heavily modified for C&C 3.

Ahhh...I thought so because the buildings and vehicles kinda had the same texture types. And the tracer bullets/missiles as well.

The rotate the map also felt the same. But the characters look so detailed and awesome in C&C 3. Sucks the game crashed due to some memory problems.

Anyway, Generals seems a pretty nice game. I played a Skirmish and got owned by the AI under Normal settings lol. But I won the 3rd try by massing Battlemaster tanks.

and the SAGE is pretty much the successor to the W3D engine, which is used for Renegade. Very Happy
