i have been looking and looking for skinning programs for months and cant seem to find one. i have been very interested in this art and woud like to create some of my own.

Please reply with some links or names of programs.
Also i would liek to know where to get renegade tools from so that i am able to choose which character/vehicle/building i would like to make.

Tutorials/tutorial links are greatly appreciated also.

thank you. photoshop is working fine but every time i try to download renegade tools it says

Try running it as a admin: right click it and select run as admin.

what if i dont know the admin pass?

is there another site i could get it from?

is there a way to make the skins without using the renegade tools?becasue i have a friend that does but i dont know how. i have asked but he keeps it a secret...

From the looks of it, I would say your download is corrupted. Its way too small in filesize.

Try redownloading it.

Razz

Renegade tools is used to make westwood maps and also used with gmax to make the main maps. Then LE, LevelEdit, is used to add stuff to the map and all of that stuff. You can download the renegade tools and gmax from here:

GMAX INSTALLER-Used for making maps: http://www.renhelp.net/downloads/gmax12.exe

Renegade Mod Tools-Used for touching up maps and making gmax make renegade maps: http://www.renhelp.net/downloads/RenegadeToolsInstaller2.exe

In order to make skins and modify them you can do two ways:

1.)Photoshop: If you don't have this this is not great because this cost like 70 dollars but it is the most usefull. You could steal it however X_X. Info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Photoshop

or

2.) The GIMP used to make skins, it is free. Info here http://www.gimp.org/

All of the two programs need plugins in order to make/modify skins. That also includes opening them [*.tga(targara view file) *.dds(DirectDraw Surface)]
