Nope. Hilariously enough, before Ford introduced the new Mustang, they got rid of the 3.8, and brought in a 3.9L which brought the HP to a walloping 190HP, and that was around '04.

Hopefully, if the guy is willing, I will be getting a 360 from a 66 charger. If that comes in, out goes the stock rear end and diff. And in comes dual exhaust and the biggest drivable engine in our driveway (that can drive, this eliminates the 50 caddy with the 503 ci motor)
Dante, you should have gotten the Charger orange, or whatever its called Dayotona. Still, it is a badass car, but you should have waited a few years to get the Challenger that is coming out this spring. I sooooooo want that car.
|
Nice find on the engine
Btw, why would i get a 5.7L R/T (Daytona) when i got the 6.1L SRT8 Plus, i like purple.
Challenger, yeah... thats a nice car, but i needed a four door, and the insurance is cheap as hell since it is classed as a full size sedan guess it doesn't matter that your car can do 180+ mph, only that its a big car lol.

what do you classify as cheap as hell?
i just want to know lol.
cause i only know the prices here in Canada, and they rip you off here.
for example i pay around 2600$/annually. for the insurance on my car, and the most i got it to go is 110mph. its a 4 door and older car.

Try and guess what make it is before you open it

1994 Acura Legend (the white car). The other car in the picture hit a car further up the street, ran into the nearby fire hydrant, and ended up in our house. Luckily for me, there was only a minor dent in my hood, but the other car that was hit wasn't safe to drive.

Holy crap.
I didn't know that the daytona only had a 5.7 in it. It is a cool looking car though and they are better looking than a regular stock charger.
EDIT: My dad estimates that with the 3:11 gear ratio in the back, the 6000 puound cadddy is good for about 130. It will also match an early to mid 90s corvette from a dead standstill with 500 lbs of torque at 2000 rpm.

You guys should also remember that the 3.8L was dead reliable, and cheap to produce.
You can all hate Ford engine, but you cannot ignore that because of its lack of up-to-date technology, the Mustang was a perennial best seller in its class, because of its price. Fuel efficiency is a moot point, simply because the engine was a simple OHV (pushrod) design, and did not incorporate more efficient, and fancier technologies like DOHC, and computerized power management.
The V6 was never about power, or economy. It was about giving someone the option of a cheap, sporty vehicle, which was fun to drive. If you wanted power, you'd opt for the 4.6L. Plus, the 3.8 wasn't exactly a slouch either.

a 2000$ import fee doesnt seem to stop quite a few people nowdays. and i cant wait untill the summer when all the nice cars are out of the garage... only thing is i dont have a garage let alone a nice summer car in it
|
$2000 sounds pretty reasonable.. I purchased mine for a total of $20k AUD, and spent another $10k on mods..
