Setting up 2 master FDS's and 2 BRenBot's [message #317970]

Well i have 1 server running and i want a second one but BRenBot doesn't support slave so i had to use 2 FDS's and 2 BRenBot's. Sarcasm

My problem is that i get an mis-communication between those programs:

Brenbot A works with FDS A+B

Brenbot B doesn't work with FDS A or B OR he works with FDS A+B (every second other combi) Huh

How to solf this??? Sneaky

Pls help

Using slave servers is a bad idea anyway, running two masters is a lot more efficient.

The problem is that slave servers use the same remote admin port as the master server, so any bots connected to them automatically communicate with the master and all of it's slaves.

yea i now but is saw 2 slaves as the easiest way first Dont Get It

I said FDS A and FDS B which are both master servers and both have there own BrenBot.

I installed FDS A in X:\Westwood\RenegadeFDS\Server\ (brenbot included)

I installed FDS B in X:\Westwood\RenegadeFDS\Server2\ (brenbot included)

I had given them both there own serial code to avoid any serial errors on WOL but i got this local error between those FDS's and BRenBot's.
Oh, i turned Remote Admin to 127.0.0.1:4949 is this the problem?

They need different ports or players won't be able to connect, but they also need different RemoteAdminPort settings, and remember to also update brenbot.cfg with the modified RemoteAdminPort setting on the second server.

I changed the RemoteAdminPorts in the FDS B and in BRenBot B to 4848 and it seems to work fine. (FDS A+BRenBot A are on port 4949)

PS. i only said your name (DanPaul) by "brenbot rules" because i only know your name of a interview of BRenBot.
I wanted to say great work for Hex to but i'm not sure of he made BRenBot or the Plugins? Anyway it works Big Ups

Yes, BRenBot works with APB, it's used on the official APB servers (although heavily modified by Oxi). However you will not get ALL the commands working, only the basic set of commands.

There was an APB version of the 1.50 installer, but not for 1.52 at the moment, just install it to a different folder to prevent it from overwriting the APB server scripts with the ones from the installer, or write the APB server scripts back afterwards.

An APB FDS is easy to setup right now. -_-

1) Install .9935 FDS
2) Install APB Beta Patch 2 Full Installer OVER the FDS installation
3) Install BRenBot 1.52
4) Configure
5) Run

Done.

I got a question again:
How do I configure BRenBot for WOL and GameSpy?

I already set a query port etc. but he isn't listed in GameSpy if i check with my own PC.

I need to change the gamespy_ip, I know that.
It is now 123.123.123.123 but do i need to change it to my LAN_ip (192.168.1.74) or INTERNET_ip (82.95.55.122 which is my webpage to). I use a SpeedTouch-router to reach internet.

In GameSpy_IP must be your public IP address so internet not LAN.

you dont need to change the ip, you cant see your server on gsa from the same network. ask a other1 to check it if you server is on list.

You could also buy a domain name (.nl or .com but ofcourse this does bring in expense)

When I used to host a dedi, I used this aswell, because you do not want people to remember an IP adress number, especialy not if you wish to get popular.

You can remove the add's at your website.

All you have to do is call, or text/sms once ( 1,75$ )
Go into. tk options it's somehwhere.

And the add's will be gone Big Ups

Remember though, that you need at least 25 visits or so ( In a time spread of a couple of months. Else you will have to reactivate under a different name, so keep your site updated/ interesting.
