I've tried and tried to find a text editor for my batch-file programming that saves and views Unicode characters, and shows syntax highlighting.
Unfortunately Crimson editor, my first attempt, won't display them. neither will Notepad++. In fact the only free program I've found that displays them is plain old NotePad!

Does anyone know of any¿

Oh and if you are a DOS geek you'll probably know dos only understands asci & ascii encoded batch files, but thats where the type unicode.bat > ascii.bat comes in handy.

My personal favorite: GNU Emacs 21. It's a beast (and totally different than every other editor on Windows), but it can handle Unicode NO PROBLEM!

Eww, we have to use Emacs at university for Oz (a crappy programming language with no apparent use...) and I find it awful to use.

Wow, complex!. Giving it a try.

EDIT: Notepad 2 works a charm. Might learn vim a little later on.
Thankyou!
