You need to play Renegade in admin mode and XP SP2 compatibility mode on Vista.

You can find me in The KOSs2 (TK2) discord while I'm playing. Feel free to come and say hi! TK2 discord

Obvious question, but have you tried running it without the compat modes?

Optionally, I suggest that you install Scripts 3.4.4 as they allow for better functionality as far as graphics are concerned, lol.

Try that:
- Install RR (http://www.icefinch.net/files/ResurrectionClient-1.0.0.56-alpha.exe)
- start Renegade
- when the game crashed, there is a crash dump file in the 'debug' directory in your Renegade directory. Send me that file (compressed to yrr<at>icefinch.net)

Before getting RR, try running wwconfig.exe in admin and xp sp2 - mode as well.

Compress it with RAR at maximum compression level, then it should be 9.something MB.

That's the common crash ppl with Vista get when the game runs without admin mode and XP compatibility.

Okay I found the bug causing the common crash on Vista.
If activating XP compatibility mode doesn't work for you, get Resurrection from http://www.icefinch.net and start Renegade. Apply the auto-update and it should run fine then.

Map? Server? Bugs like that happen all the time on laggy servers, or maps like Glacier Flying.

This is a bug in Custom Scripts, triggered by Resurrection. I'm currently trying to find a solution for this.
