When people ask you for HijackThis logs, it means the virus won't be sorted out for at least another year, so forget it. I had this (Smitfraud.C) on my other comp 2 years ago and it could never be removed. That virus just keeps coming back after you reboot. I tried searching Ad-aware's forums but all I got was people posting HijackThis logs with no solution. I had to reformat my comp. Safe mode didn't work for me but you could try regedit (if you know where anything related to that is)...and what Dthdealer said.

You should do a system restore back to a point where you didn't have the virus. (Hopefully it didn't delete your restore points)

I had a virus like this before, the only thing that gave it away and made me know for a fact that it was a virus was that in those popup balloons that come up sometimes from the task bar to tell you something is happening, something popped up saying "Click this baloon to go to the security center"

Exactly word for word. They spelled "balloon" wrong. Lol.

ROFL. I'd never notice something like that. I suck at spotting spelling mistakes.

EDIT: This is a little more blunt and obvious though.

I went ahead and did a system restore. So far the pop ups haven't come. I think I'll go ahead and do a spybot scan though to make sure.

Dude, Download "HijackThis" and install it. Run the Programm and click on "Do a system scan and save logfile".

After its scanned your Computer its creating a Text file, Post the FULL text file here! then im going to check the Textfile on a German wesite. Afther that im going to Tell you whats wrong!

If you're talking about www.hijackthis.de, it translates the log file analysis into English. Make sure the "Show the visitors ratings" box is checked.
