not unless the mammy has one hell of a generator or tremendous battery/alternator combo. im no scientis but 32 megajoules or even 10 megajoules for that matter is alot of power. and since this weapon is of electro-magnetic nature you will need alot of electrical power to create enough flux to propell that round at mach 5 speed.
but its nice to see another commonly used weapon in video games to be made into reality.

I find it funny that video games try so hard to emulate reality, while reality tries so hard to emulate video games.

It all revolves around futuristics concepts and prototypes.

It's not hard to build a railgun, the difficult part is in firing large projectiles at high speed.
Also, the "barrels" of these kinds of guns wear fast due to the massive energy passing through them.

[Note that I might be mistaking between 2 kinds of (possible) weapons, one being a railgun, which I think works on Lorentz forces, and the other being .... which works with electro-magnetic forces to give the bullet it's forward speed]

Getting the power is relatively easy, with capicitors. The hard part on it is create wiring in such away that it doesn't fry itself , due to the massive amounts of energy released in a matter of nanoseconds.

A flux compaciter perhaps?

That would only work if the mammoth tank was going 88 miles an hour, and have you seen their speed? They get outran by fatass engineers. Not going to happen. Neutral

Good point. Maybe if they put the rail guns on a Delorian (SP?).
