I voted yes, simply for the reason that the only reason that I stay active on these forums is that I love renegade, and that sometimes something useful is posted.
I do however hate the complete lackof moderation here, you, Crimson, know that however, and you told me once that you thought that the community wanted it this way.
Well, as I had no way of making sure you where right or wrong, I trusted you here. Though recently I start to hear more and more complaints about the moderation.
Please use this information to your advantage, and try to make the forum a better place for everyone. This would be in the benefit of us all, and mostly in the benefit of Renegade, and that is what we're all here for, right?
I suggest to ban certain people, lock certain topics, remove certain posts rants, and so on.
If you think you can't handle that, as I know you're very busy, I would like to try to manage that. No, I am not saying that I should do this, just if you can't find anyone else, then I am willing to give it a try, to the benefits of us all.
Edit:
Could the one that voted no elaborate? Or does he/she wants to remain anomymous? That [b]seems[/s] a bit cowardish, in my opinion.

Indeed I do want more moderation. Before WHOREQUEER and TEO and a bunch of other idiots came, this place was pretty decent place, with intelligent topics all around, but as you can see, gone now.

No because just like with the United States, the majority is full of total idiots and retards and can not be trusted, and shouldn't be trusted with the ability to make any important decisions.
Crimson, Blazer, and the other admins are doing a decent job at moderating. The very same public wanting moderation are the ones who are spamming pleco pictures and doing retarded things like that.

Thats rich coming from you. You're one of the trolls that post useless threads.
I for one have never posted a picture of a pleco and I want the moderation tightened.
|
Yeah the but the point i'm trying to make it is I am not a hypocrite who makes useless posts and spams and then complains about the fact that there is not enough moderation.

Lighten up on flaming at Rocko. If he's contributing to the discussion, there's no reason to be a dick.
Also: Yeah. Please? I agree with the public poll idea that the subject cannot see. That sounds awesome.

There is far from a complete lack of moderation here. Read the rules over a couple times then come back here and try to justify that claim.
This forum is a very tricky one to moderate. It's the general discussion, in a sense, any type of discussion should be allowed to take place here so long as it doesn't directly conflict with the CoC. Whether it be an intelligent conversation about some new technology, or a IQ-lowering discussion about words that contain the letter B. Just because you don't agree with or like what someone is posting doesn't mean it's against the rules, nor does it mean it should be.
Everyone here has had all the "say" they could ever need since the Report button was added. If you don't think the moderators are getting to everything then give them a hand and stop complaining. Instead of making this thread it would have taken you less time to click the report button, and you would have gotten more accomplished. I'm sure you'd all be shocked at the amount of moderation that goes on here if you had access to The Silo, or if Crimson/Blazer posted parts of the Action Log.

Did you ignore the fact that I said im not a hypocrite who does those things, AND THEN, complains about it? I didn't say that there weren't any topics that I've made that didn't have some questionable placement or could be considered unimportant, or as you retards call spam.
Some of those topics weren't total spam though as I was trying to make some kind of joke in the beginning in hopes of starting a discussion, of which i wanted to talk about.
A lot of you over analyze and believe I'm here just to troll, but no, there's a lot more to what I'm saying than its literal interpretation.

As for the question goes:
It is a question of what you view these forums as. Do you view them as belonging to the community or the people who own the forums?
Honestly, I want to say that it belongs to the community, but none of us are supporting the forums. If we want to have a say, then we should all completely support these forums.
If Crimson were to agree to it, I think she should let people know roughly what she spends a month on the bills, and then people collectively pay that. Then the ones who donate, would then be given "votes" (based on how much you donate). Only then should we be able to be guaranteed a say in the moderation and administration.
Of course, this would be ONLY if and when Crimson would agree to this proposition. Until then, it sounds completely absurd to expect that she gives up partial control to the collective users of these forums if we have no contributions towards the hosting.
whoa.
