Quote: | The title also implies, as mentioned before, that this rape was ordered by the American Army. However the rape was the action of a single man not acting under orders from the American Army, hence it cannot be considered that the American Army committed rape, but that a single male commited rape, and it just happens to be the case that he is in the American Army. If a Tesco employee (or other supermarket chain) commits rape, that does not mean Tesco commits rape.
|
Was I implying it? No, you only heard what you wanted to hear and, hundreds of individual soldiers after the invasion was over decided to take the aforementioned action stated above, and their higher ups not only did nothing about it but secretly encouraged it, similar to what happened in Poland and the Soviet Union during WW2.

He also says that these "mass rapings" are rarely mentioned in the media... I wonder how he knows they're actually happening?

You're right. You didn't imply it. You outright said it. It's still in the time "...capable of MASS rapes" The term "mass" means many, multiple, more than one.

No. However, hundreds of individual soldiers after the invasion was over decided to take the aforementioned action stated above, and their higher ups not only did nothing about it but secretly encouraged it, similar to what happened in Poland and the Soviet Union during WW2.

Yes. They secretly encouraged it. Which is why pimply-faced teenagers are writing about it in forums founded on completely unrelated topics. THATS how secret the orders were, right?

No, but considering the anti-Muslim attitude that occurred shortly after 911, it is very likely that is what happened.

No actually, I was just acting like the typical conservative who would post mindless posts on how America is the best country in the world.

Like you actually read the Iraq constitution under Saddam Hussein, which ironically the US supported until he invaded Kuwait.

So, we've gone from "GOVERNMENT ORDERS MARINES TO RAPE PPL!!1!" to "This one isolated rape incident occured between two members of the marines, and I, prasp, have this giant flimsy theory that perhaps this could be more common that previously thought. Maybe."

Yes, you implied that, because that's what you wrote. Your title clearly says the American Army is capable of mass rapes, by which you are saying the American Army has ordered it's soldiers to go around raping people.

So? A truly credible source isn't limited to the research of an individual. Individuals are much more easily corrupt than groups. A truly credible source has an EDITOR to fix these mistakes. Otherwise they may be seen as...oh...let's say...bogus.
So while you say I'm not smart enough to infer that English isn't his first language, you fell prey to his words automatically without even the slightest hesitation because they sounded good to you. You forget that since this is research - There should be some evidence of sources. I see little to none outside the obscure, and this is just at first glance. No links to back up claims, and little by way of further elaboration to the author's vague statements.
