ok, so for the past few days ive noticed an obnoxious sound coming from my computer, that sounds a lot like when a crt has that annoying high pitched whine.
it only seems to happen when doing graphic intensive shit, and initially i couldnt tell where it was coming from
but after a little research i discovered something called coil whine and that appears to be the problem, i just don't know what to do about it
suggestions?

Change your graphics card for another for now, and see if that's the problem.

If so, contact the seller of your card, they should be able to replace it under warrenty.

If not, find out what part of the computer it's coming from, then get back to us.

I'm beginning to tire of these forums. Every other user appears to be about 8, mentally.

You're sure it's not CRT whine? I get that sound too every now and then, and a good slap to my moniter usually fixes it.

ah, and now the current one no longer works.
i go to change out the power strip with a new one and i plug it all in and it starts for about 5 seconds, then turns off, strangely enough leaving the power led on the front on. luckily enough i have this laptop, but no games for two days, meh.
