cnc95fan wrote on Thu, 03 January 2008 06:58 | Hi, I have just installed Linux Ubuntu on a spare PC I have, it has all the drivers and everything nessecary to make it work. Inside, I have a PCI WLAN card, when I try to connect to my wireless network (using Wicd Manager) it stops at retriving the IP address, my router was set by the factory to use a non-static IP, but obviosuly using the home network of 192.168.xxx.xxx. The WEP key I entered in is the proper one, so it's a little confusing as to why it won't connect. Does anyone know why?
Thanks in advance.

I've heard that Ubuntu and other Linux distros have problems with acquiring good drivers for use with wireless routers, but that may have changed recently, so I don't know.
