The renegade disks are supposedly "Copy protected" but I wish to copy them and keep the originals scratch free.

Ashampoo 2008 won't let me do this, claiming its copy protected and bla bla.

MagicISO only does 300m in the unregistered version.
Can someone please tell me what program I can use to make a disc image.

Also something I wish to post here that I feel quite funny, I bought renegade again about 2 years back as I had lost my original serial. When I received the package it had two, different working serials! Lol.

I don't understand what you're doing wrong with MagicISO. I can do it just fine in the trial version.

No need, copy the contents of both CD's into seperate folders on your desktop, burn the files in each folder to a CD (set it do data CD). Also, make sure you have show hidden files enabled because (I think) there are 2 hidden safedisc files. n_P.

Ty, i thought that most discs that are copy-protected won't work unless the data is in a special order, hence the need to convert it to an image.

You could always create disk images with Nero. However I am unsure of any trial versions. I use the full version that came with my DVD drive and it has been working great so far.

Alcohol 120% FTW. It lets you create a Virtual Drive where you can mount .iso files as backups. TBH, you're better off using the no-cd crack from RenHelp.net

Can't you circumvent that by copying the movies to the harddrive? Should be possible, though I can't test it right now, no renegade CD's here Sad

Yes, place the movies in data\movies\

I use Daemon tools to mount and a number of different programs to create images, depending on whether they're copy protected.

I have cp2 so I have the no-cd *cough* unofficial *cough* crack.
Just the SP movies and the fact that I end up re-installing ren at least 3 times each year.

SO putting a dir called movies in the data folder will work?

Use Nero or Alcohol120%, both good at making direct copies, no stopping because of copywrite and other protections.

Daemon Tools, Alchool 120% sucks :/ Why have a burned copy of the image when you can:

1)just copy the files and paste on another CD=100% copy.
2)mount the .iso, always have them mounted for the videos etc.

#2 wins everytime..

Both fail for moderen games. I managed to tweak my F.E.A.R into working, but the patch stoped it ^^. You should be allowed to back up your games without being called a "pirate".

How dumb can you be to buy a HDD that acually fails/crashes LOL?
(Not saying you specifically, but to anyone that, that does happen to).
