It seems that some "funny-pants" use my nickname (Geert42) to
cheat on renegade-servers, i can assure you its not the real Geert42 (me),
if someone knows a way to prevent this kind of abuse or a way to protect my nick,
i will be very thankful,

Gamespy or Direct joining is how they're doing it. If you have any servers where you play often and your reputation there is important, I suggest talking to them about some sort of authentication.
If you think your password has been stolen, you may wish to change it. More help will probably available here

Some servers use an authenticate system to protect a nick. If you play on a specific server, u can ask them about it.

Or you could play on servers that have direct connect blocked and only allow WOL-players (atm that's only BlackIntel and KOSs2 afaik).

Okay guy's thanks for the replies,
i know the way to protect my nick on our own server, (!auth)
i just wondered if there was a way to protect it generally,

I am a admin/owner so that's why i don't want my nick being abused on other servers.

But i understand there is no way to protect it for sure.

Jelly doesn't block them, Jelly detects them (unless they changed it). It's still perfectly possible to direct connect.

Unfortunately there's no way to protect your nick on other serevrs unless you use !auth on all of them or unless people stop allowing direct connect.
