what is warez? Are you talking about www.warez.com?
No no it is not illiegal I OWN XP for real and I have a product key it's just my XP cd is too scrached to do anything about it. I have all off the files from the CD except "SETUP.EXE" it is to corrupted to run the installer. So I guess I just have wo run winnt.exe in dos, or winnt32.exe in windows. (Which is the CD image by the way)

Because the product key is controlled by the "setup.exe" and you can get around the setup by using the winnt.exe for dos or winnt32.exe for windows. Except if I need it I have the code it's just the setup.exe it broken.

I have a old PC which uses a keyless XP install, still works with all updates, the guy we got it from years ago said it was a modified HP recovery disc, this would also explain the HP trial ware when first installed. (PC wasnt even a HP, custom built) I dont even use the PC anymore, but I wouldnt risk using it as a main home PC, I'm not much of a pirate, so....go get some satisfaction and buy the actual product.
Another cool trick, buy vista upgrade, install it claiming you have xp or windows 2000 already installed, it installs but wont activate, reinstall it while keeping the previous vista install on (install over) now try activating, it works with the product key you bought. I tried this on my friends PC back when vista was first out.
