While I think you're on the right track, I think you're still a bit too involved in this, as well. I ignore them both because neither ever provide anything insightful. I mean, they both have the ability to, as I've seen SOME intelligent posts from them, but they like to just turn their back on tact every chance they get.
I would just suggest to put them both on ignore and just leave it as that. The people I have on ignore have annoyed me so much, but once I put them on ignore, they've been only a blip on the radar when I've seen they've posted again, but I don't have to be bothered by reading it.
