Hello, Im here looking for BR install protocal for the Tool Manager what else. I just want to make sure im installing everything correctly.

Just the BRenBot directory and everything in it in the server directory, No registered files?

Plugin Installation, Just copy the readme to the readme folder, and copy the 2 plugin files to the plugin folder. What about plugins with a php folder, where does that need to go, or can it be placed anywhere (I put it in the plugins folder).

Thanks for your help

Wouldn't you get a much faster response if you just download the mini installer and just test install it? You'll know exactly whats what then.

The PHP folder in plugins is for the server owner to upload to their website to provide online functionality for the plugin, such as the ranks showing the ranks pages on your website.

And, as I said before in the PM, there are no registered files or anything, BR 1.52 is built in perl and packaged with all the required modules, and is therefore completely standalone.

I think autowarn_words.cfg goes in the BRenBot folder, because I made it a long time ago and never got round to moving it into the plugins folder with all the other plugin config.

I can confirm it's in the brenbot folder. Not in plugins.

You can find me in The KOSs2 (TK2) discord while I'm playing. Feel free to come and say hi! TK2 discord

K thanks, Almost installed that to wrong directory. Even though I can change it server side. Big Grin

E: Any other plugin files that dont belong in the plugins folder, you should tell me now, cause as of right now, that ^^ file is the only one outside.

BR's renrem protocol requires an 8 digit password to work properly.

And NR's renrem doesnt need to be 8 characters Huh

You should atleast comment that it has to be 8, so people know... Blush

I am pretty sure it's in the readme somewhere...

And it does not 'crash' brenbot, it shows an error message and then closes a few seconds later, the message saying something like 'renrem password must be 8 digits'

And the reason it has to be 8 is simply due to the way the encryption is coded in brenbot, I could update it to work with any length if I wanted to, but it does not seem worth it.

As for needing to be in the FDS directory, the recommended install location is

RenegadeFDS\Server\BRenBot\brenbot.exe

But it should theoretically work from any folder as long as you set the paths right.

Well I dont see anything, Maybe a line get added before it closes. You need to put something right above the admin pass cfg key that says that ...

But thx

If you run it from command prompt you would see any error lines. It should stay open for 4-5 seconds after printing the line, but perl sometimes prefers not to bother with that.

EDIT: From the readme with 1.52;

Quote:

Note: The lines with a ; on the front are NOT the actual options, and
not where you put these settings. It is recommended that you change the
pw option to an 8 digit password of your choice.

Read his post again, run it from the command prompt.

EX: Go to "Run". Type "cmd", hit enter. Type cd C:\Server\Path\Bot\. Type "BRenBot.exe".
