I jsut downloaded GIMPshop and I was wondering if there were any tutorials on how to get started on retexturing and changing some that I have since it won't run dds files.

You should get a DDS plugin, or a convertor from DDS to a filetype that you can edit. I think Oblivion would probably know a good one.
