We can't even get our microwaves to melt Cheez Whiz properly, and they want to build invisible tanks?...

There are so many ways that this can go wrong...

I'm sure they've addressed all of your concerns.

Usually in the military world, the term "addressed" translates to having a fully functional prototype that "addresses" or solves most concerns that were raised during concept stage. So, in that regard, your statement is not true. However, it is completely logical to think that the engineers have carefully thought out the challenges they will face as the project matures.

I don't give a fuck what "addressed" means in terms of military. I'm using the word as a civilian would, so puffing up your chest with that little tidbit has no bearing whatsoever on what I said.

A government military (unless they're North Korea) isn't going to come out and give an estimate on when the equipment will be able to see service time and not be able to back it up.

Picking on North Korea definitely highlights your deep insightful knowledge in military technology. Sarcasm No offense cheese.
EVERY nation in the history of modern warfare has had delays in some of the most prestigious military projects. Cost overruns, design stalemate, political opposition are some of the factors that cause delays. In most cases, they are eventually overcome but that does not mean it will be a "walk in the park." And this British project will most surely experience those.

Again, enough with the puffery. My remark about the DPRK was merely political rhetoric.

I understand what delays do to projects. I work for a machine builder. I know what delays occur and how much they push back projects.

I'm sure they know a bit more than you do.

Agreed. But do you agree that someone who has been closely and enthustically following military developments in Western nations is slightly more knowledgeble than the general population?

Correct, but me siding with the Ministry of Defense's estimate has nothing to do with knowledge of military developments, but rather listening to a government military that you agreed to knowing more than you. If you're going to admit that they know more than you, then you have to concede that they've probably thrown in estimates for delays.

I'm not saying that you're wrong because it's very possible they're overestimating their progress, however, I'm sure their estimate of 5 years is much closer than your guess.

My educated estimate is based on recent military development history.

I'm sure their's is as well.

Starbuzz

Blah blah blah, cancelled project, blah blah blah...

To say that the British invisible tank will be a 5 year walk in the park hinges on blind ignorance.

Either way, we will see who is right in 5 years. I bet 15 years minimum. Thumbs Up

Nothing is a walk in the park. To assume that I even assume that is ignorance, as well.

whoa.

No need to break up under pressure and use swear words, cheese. And no "puffery" was intended. To assume my posts were merely "puffing the chest" rather than insightful critical views was also ignorant.

Have a nice day.

I said "fuck" once. It's the way I talk. If you have a problem with it, get the fuck over it or ignore it. To assume I'm "breaking" under pressure is absurd. If I wanted to dodge your arguments, I would have resorted to ad hominem.

Well....I have always wondered! GDI seems to be significantly behind in technology compared to NOD...As nod has made many many Advances such as Stealth Cloacking technology E.G STEALTH TANKS/SBH

They have also harnessed lazer technology and mastered it in the form of weapons whilst GDI has mainly seemed to focus on Ionic based technology such as Personnel Ion Cannons and the all famous Ion Cannon Satellite-->

What i am stating here is that for a worldwide Multi-Billion dollar defensive movement they are behind in the latest forms of combat against NOD!

GDI hasn't even researched stealth cloaking technology and tried to apply to some of there existing weapons like Tanks!
WHY NOT!? If GDI mastered such technology's as NOD has then they would find it alot easier to defend and protect the Planet from NOD and it's endless effort to dominate it!
