Some people I have worked with swear by 'Rosetta Stone' , and say it's the best they come.

However, it's pricey, and you have to stick to it in order for it to be worth the cost.

Yeah, I heard Rosetta Stone is supposively really good. Or maybe you can take Spanish over the summer?

I have Rosetta Stone, and have yet to try it, but I hear it's good. I also have a bunch of MP3's of a course called "Learn Spanish in your Car"

Have a look at http://www.mangolanguages.com/

I'm using it for mandarin and it's not bad. That said I learn better when I'm being taught by friends than when I'm being taught by my PC.

lol Most of you in here comment on grammar and spelling. Not one caught the title of this thread "Leaning Spanish Software"

I usually don't comment on spelling since I'm terrible at it. Thank God for spellcheck lol. Just find it funny no one caught that.

When I was homeschooled for a year(bad choice, don't do such a horrible thing to your children), I used to use software called Switched on Schoolhouse.. It taught me basic Spanish.

I agree and I never comment on grammar just find it funny that no one did since these forums are notorious for spelling comments.

Anyway, TeachME Spanish is a great program.

IMHO the only language that should be learned other than English is Japanese. In todays high-tech world you will most likely benefit from the Japanese language more than the primary language of the people who cross rivers and dig under fences just to come to our country.

Just my opinion though. http://www.oblivioninteractive.com/images/fawkes%20thumbs.png

EDIT: Also you might want to consider learning the English language first Wink

Rosetta Stone has an Arabic program, and I've been considering it, just for shits and giggles when my flight is late, and I have time to kill at the airport. Mr. Green

Eek... hope this isn't too old for me to bump.

Anyone know if there's a free Cantonese learning program? I'm very fluent in speaking but my writing and reading can be improved. No I would not prefer Mandarin in case you people offer that =P

Language isn't only for benefiting in business. It preserves culture, which is much more important than business IMO.

Ooops, forgot to add: Learning languages that aren't necessarily useful to business can also be useful in vacations and breaking barriers between people.

And why is that? Again IMOP I prefer to learn a language of power over the language of the worker. To each his/her own of course.

Yes the Rosseta stone is like $500 dollars now, the North Carolina School of Science and Math, where my mom works, just got it and they love it. Will worth it Thumbs Up Another good program is the discovery collection and the EN ESPANOL! program.
