After i 2x click the Shortcut or even 1x click the Renegade tab to load it up it will bring up the Renagade configuration box?!
Then when i click across tabs till i get to the Perfromance tab it crashes, coming up with "Renegade has encountered a serious error" box asking me to report the Error!

I looked at the file error report and apparently this is what is causing it...C:\DOCUME~1\paul\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER5B.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt
The text above leads to a invalid page "Internet Explorer cannot display the Webpage"
It is so wierd Dont Get It I mean there is no good reason why my Renegade would do this to me?! Angry
Please can someone help me here, im so lost....

Well first try running the actuall game.exe, game2.exe or Renegade.exe from the 'C:\Westwood\Renegade' folder.

It could be because Reneagde Shortcut is bad or something like that.

You could try reinstalling reneagde and then trying it out again.

When the config window pops up, try telling it under the 'Graphics' tab to play in windowed mode, this is probably the problem here <-------I had this same problem to and I fixed it by doing this.

Hope this helps! Smile

WAIT, WAIT don't panic! Big Grin I am still learning a lot about renegade servers so I don't know what any of this stuff means but try backing up thoes FDS files and stuff so it will work, and try to reinstall it to how it is supposed to be.

Another thing you could do is go to the folder were you are getting that error: 'C:\DOCUME~1\paul\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER5B.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt' and delete that file, this could fix it.

I had to do that I deleted the TMP file that was giving me problems and it worked after that, but it kept saying that the file was corrupted but my OS, Renegade and other games still worked fine.

I am running Windows XP not Vista-LOL, it is way expensive and i couldn't be arsed to learn how to use it anyways!
So that's that...and umm i have trid going to that file and it aint bloody there! I mean i even deleted parts of it so that is got narrowed down to C:\DOCUME~1\paul\LOCALS~1\Temp\

There is no WER44.tmp.dir00\ in the file Temp file! I think that is why it is screwing me over...cus it wants a file that don't exist! Dont Get It

No, that's where the crash-dump is.

lol, try deleting the TMP folder? Sorry for the spam, no that is not right. You have to copy your picture and then go to www.imageshack.us and then upload the picture there, when it is done you have a whole page of links. Copy the link of your choice and then paste it in your 'signature' box.
