I have seen many "Thankyou" threads like this on this forum although I have never actually said it myself. So, I thought I would join the party. I would like to take this opportunity to formally thank Black Hand Studios for making RenGuard.
Renguard has made a drastic improvement in the fact that cheaters have been forced to come up with new and innovative ways to cheat - many of which are pretty much undetectable. I remember the old days when cheating was rampant and most hacks were easy to detect via a well conducted test. Praise God nowdays that has all changed! Cheating is still rampant however it is impossible to tell if a player is cheating or not. Thus many servers resort to "n00b mod" tactics and just ban people for "Being too good to be true" rather than actually being responsible and gathering proof before they ban. Oh, if it weren't for RenGuard where would we be? Certainly not being effectively banned from the server for headshotting a few FRG happy n00bs, who actually believe that Renguard stops cheats - thats for sure. Yes we love RenGuard for what it does; not allowing us to use our favourite weapon/character models etc; continually disconnecting us from the network and crashing the game; allowing us to FRG skilled players from the game for no reason whatsoever - yeah it's absolutely great. I certainly wouldn't play Renegade without RenGuard - I mean not that it actually works for most people or anything but you know, it rids the game of like 10% of cheaters so whats to complain about?
I'm glad I got that off my chest, I never really took the time to thank BHS for thier valliant efforts to piss the good, honest players off. Keep up the great work lads!

Thanks to Renguard for making sure people like Surth cry a little harder so I can laugh at them more.
The fact of the matter is without Renguard this game would have been over run a long time ago and be unplayable now. Sure it is flawed but it is way better than the alternative.

Beinb able to detect cheaters isn't all of it, you need to prove and then ban each of them. Assuming BHS and BI didn't exist, 4/5 players would be cheaters, it would be impossible to have a game.
Renguard is a wonderful initiative
