I'm trying to install Renegade on one of my seconday PC for my buddy to use when he's over. Problem is, it crashes at the intro during install. In detail, the music plays for a half a second and stops, and then the screen goes black and sometimes locks up (sometimes I can Alt+Tab or Ctrl+Alt+Del, and others I have to hard reset the PC). Either way, it won't pass that point. Windows is up to date, and heck, the installation is only a day old. DirectX is up to date, and I've tried countless nVidia drivers. The video card is not overclocked. All Direct Draw and Direct3D tests pass. Sound works fine too. I know what you're thinking. If it's not the system, it's the disc. The disc is not bad though becuase it works fine on my primary PC. The CD-Rom drive works too. Any ideas?

Sounds a bit as if the GFX card can't handle the game setup. I remember having the same thing when trying to install on a computer with a 16 MB GFX card...

You can find me in The KOSs2 (TK2) discord while I'm playing. Feel free to come and say hi! TK2 discord

And you were half right. While it was a POS GeForce4 MX440, it would had been enough. I guess the card is bad or something though. I found my old GeForce4 Ti4200 in my closet, swapped it in, and all works.
