Hello!

I see that we cannot play a LAN game (to explore new maps for example) if an active internet connection is not present.

Is there a workaround to this? I know it sounds dumb but I can play a LAN game to explore new maps in Halo 1 WITHOUT my wireless network card plugged into my laptop.

The same is not the case with Renegade...it says something like "IP address not found" or something along those lines.

Is there a solution or is it just the limitations of Renegade?

You need an active LAN connection. This doesn't mean that it needs to be connected to a router/switch/hub, it just means that it needs to be activated.

You can find me in The KOSs2 (TK2) discord while I'm playing. Feel free to come and say hi! TK2 discord

You can setup a loopback adapter, which will be always active,
independent if there is a network cable connected or not.

Here is howto: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839013

Just set the IP to something like 111.111.111.111 and you are fine Smile

When people ask me "Plz" just because it's shorter than "Please" I feel perfectly justified to answer "No" because it's shorter then "Yes"
