Why wont my REN X open w3d file PLEASE HELP [message #290294]

I installed Gmax, ren x and the w3d plugin for Gmax along with the w3d file reader only to find that none of the programs could read w3d files wot should i do ?????????????

Customize your UI, and add the function "import a w3d" to the File drop down menu. The normal import isn't the w3d importer in renx. You have to add its button/tab/whatever.
