Because I have experience where Some games I actually installed on mt external USB drive/harddrive wont run on another PC because the PC didnt have the registry value, it isnt that easy to extract them because some games use multiple files and they are named very odd, you can try to do it, now you confirmed it uses USB 2.0 it will run, your fps may not be fast though, it depends if it is fast enough for handling renegade, I'm sure the game will start though if you can get it to run without registry. One way you could do it would be to copy the renegade/westwood registry folder completly to your usb drive, then import every single one to the PC.
This all may/may not work, I've tried doing 5-6 games this way, and they dont work unless I copied the reg, but heck it's worth a try.

LOL you could delete the SAM file in the reg Actually I think that I have played Renegade on my computer at home without the reg key. As in I deleted the key and the next time I ran Renegade it seems as if you made a new key because when I look back the key was updated with the information and such.

Yeah, any programs run under your (more than likely to be) administrator account at home will be able to add to the registry, they won't on the Library PCs. You'd need to hide a USB 2.0 HDD (about... 6 GB would cover it). Install XP on that hard drive (while it's connected to the library PC - Hard, esp if they don't have a CD drive you can get at, you could try using a USB CD drive as well, but then you'd need to be able to restart the library PC - maybe not so hard - and then make it boot from the USB CD drive - may be difficult / impossible, then install XP) then install Renegade.
Then you could play. Why the F*ck would you want to bother. It'd be easier to get internet access at your house... o0
By the way, you can run Ren off of a USB 2.0 HDD. Can't say for the quality because the rest of the PC was so crap it could have been anything causing that low FPS.
Renguard is a wonderful initiative

I don't have ANY registry values for Renegade, according to my PC Renegade isn't even installed yet I play it on a daily basis. The only registry values I have for Westwood is for RA2.
