I've been looking for an video editing tool for the last week that allows me to convert an 3GB file and convert it to around about 700mb.

But am having no luck. :/

Any ideas please? Smile

Windows movie maker does a good job at compressing high qauality stuff into a DVD quality file type, Just make sure you set the output to your own file size, and the video size so it doesnt come out small or too big....

Maybe windows movie maker... I mean, people say it makes movies poor quality, but making the size a lot smaller will make it poor quality anyways.

My brother uses something called 'Total Video Converter' which he uses to compress stuff. It's a cool little tool.

However, it has to be purchased, or you can use a free version with a watermark.

Try WinAVI, faster, no quality loss, has good free trial.

TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress, Great software but it has to be purchased, PM me on IRC for a crack or find one yourself. It will edit, convert and all that other nice stuff you want it to do.

For something quick and dirty, Windows Movie Maker is okay. For something more professional, Sony Video Studio (previously known as Vegas Video) is nice.

I don't care what you say, It's the best, It has great video quality.

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

Ah thank you. Razz

I've think I'll take Blazers advice and try Sony Video Studio, see how that goes.

Can't use Windows Movie Maker for a few reasons, the main one it is in German, before you ask why, my XP is in German, long story, English XP install CD died last year.. so stuck with this. Very Happy

Yeah, Sony Vegas is a really good program for video editing, although slightly complex.

Already done, their website fails as the language pack download slot is linked wrong.. everytime you go to download, it instead shows you a readme of the file...
