I joined a marathon server, fnfalls...
People don't know how to play this game anymore, they complain about attacking the enemy's base (points), complain about holding the field, while someone keeps buying tanks to "mass" build them.
It's a shame the day is gone where people worked together to destroy the other teams base, instead of bitching about people trying to hold the field and kill tanks while keeping engineers in the HON repairing.
I understand they get credits, and I'm going to kill every shiny stank that sticks its nose out, so I honestly don't see a point in sitting around while they build 30 med tanks for a rush 30 mins later...
To each their own, but that should work both ways instead of kicking someone who knows how to play, and is only helping his team.
well, after about 20 mins of boredom, I grab a Sydney and kill all the med tank shells...lol
Back to a better server I go, wish "The Pitts" was still around 
ps. they had about 30 meds for 10 players, go figure

I was playing with Titan before this game that he's talking about, and there was a fair bit of teamplay, but only because me, him, and Havoc89 (a friend of ours) were all on the same team and on teamspeak.
Titan's right though, this game in a public server is no longer what it used to be. You'd think that after almost 6 years, people would actually learn how to play Renegade.

I think that's not why public games are inferior these days. It's because the players keep being recycled. It's like many "generations" of players from 2002 till now.

I came to Renegade in Jan, 2007. I ain't n00b no more and as long as I live, I will NEVER leave the forums and the game.

You just need to find a decent server and stick to its rules. I still have very good public games regulary on my clan's server and have been playing since 2003.

FnFalls is a good server, has good mods, who test players for cheats, uses biatch and has very simple rules.
Killing over 20 friendy tanks that was part of a mass, is such a n00b thing to do.
What he needs is an smack around his head.

Killing your own tanks so they become wrecks so you can bypass teh tank limit is a really retarded thing to do anyway. And 20 tanks for 10 players? =/
This seems to be a "trend" nowadays, thank God we haven't enabled wrecks.

Thats why I dont play in big servers, I play in servers with 10-12 people, each person has a responsibility, and person takes on several jobs during the game, because they know they have to, and each person works as a team, big servers, people goof off, point whore, tank mass, and just do crap, some people in those servers could never survive in a smaller game, because their used to doing 1 thing the entire game fro playing in a server with 20-30 people.

Huh, You dont know how to play this game, as you point out that with points.. Points dont have a meaning at marathon servers as it ends only at a ped beacon or killing and enemy base, only will turn in a MVP for the point whore, like you ( if they were complaining about you attack enemy buildings ). And 30 shells mostly have a meaning too --> More shells --> More mass waves. But still, Marathon servers end up being camp war thus a mass is needed to end the game or it will go on forever ( possible complaining about attacking enemy buildings as they had no ref ).

It is all about the type of player your server attracts. The sucessfull servers that are full are that way for a reason. They are unique in some way. Other than we both host Renegade servers there is not much that you can compare Jelly and n00bstories with. The servers that are empty are because they are the same run of the mill bullshit. You just need to find your match. Knowing how long you have been playing and your (assumed) skill level I would agree that n00bstories would be a good fit for you.

I was playing on it one day, and was on GDI. We had only the power plant left and i had the only med tank. Was defending all game they were repairing me. Wave after wave of attacks we fought off. Everyone was saying keep the med alive, keep the med alive and telling me i was doing a great job.
Then one of the server mods tells me to get out of the tank he wants it. Said if I do not get out and give him the tank, he will kick me out of the server. Everyone was like what are you doing he is doing a great job. Guy wanted my tank I refused. He kicks me out of the game.
I will never play there again.

Give me the name of the moderator, and screenshots of the incident and it will be dealt with.
Nothing can be done if nothing gets said, just ignoring it and walking away is no good. If you posted and had proof, and nothing was done, then you would have genuine reason to put the community down.
However, a half baked accusation with no proof isn't worth the time it takes to read, unless you can back your claim up. If you can do, I would be more than happy to deal with it as that kind of abuse will not be tolerated, and if you really knew our setup you would know that.

its not half baked. i don't make story's up but this happened about awhile ago. Sorry didn't think to get a screen shot. I understand you trying to support your mods though.

I am not supporting anyone in this, if you had genuine proof I would act on it. That kind of abuse will lead to a removal, and most probably a ban to go with it.
I do not appreciate you putting down our servers, without any proof to back it up. It leaves me unable to do anything to counter your claim, and indeed act on it.
Had you done the sensible thing and come to the forums, you would have been treated with maximum respect, and the matter would have been dealt with.

I know I hate this too! One game the NOD team could have lost a HON with a simple APC rush. But I could not even buy a freaking APC because people just kept buying mammys and shit and then locking them and running away as a infantry person.  So here we have like 15 mammys that are locked and they are empty so it's just pointless.  You can't drive the mammy because it is locked, and you cant buy a vech because of the Vechicle Limit. It happens like every game! Gosh what happened to buying tanks within moderation 
The reason Uranus is tilted 90 degrees is because god got angry and kicked it over.....
