Just out of curiosity since I play badminton seriously.

But if you look at how fast the birdie can go at a smash or drive, it doesn't seem that easy to block. I know it seems like a sissy sport cause it's so light, but it requires so much endurance and people can't seem to see that.
Edit: I forgot to say, yes badminton is not as tough as a sport like football. However, I'm getting annoyed how little recognition and respect badminton has.

It involves speed, agility, and accuracy, so I'd consider it a sport. Ping-pong, I mean "table-tennis" is regarded as a sport too, and Badminton is way less laughable.
I play golf myself, and I also consider it a sport.

Here in Australia they play REAL football (either Australian Rules or Rugby depending on where you are). And unlike those wimpy Yank footballers, the Aussies dont wear huge shoulder pads.
