I'd be shocked- if it weren't for the facts...
...that GTA has been lampooning and flat-out blasting public figures, political groups, racial groups, and just about everybody else with satire since the first game came out, and because the references are satirical in nature there's not a single illegal thing about it. If Mr. Thompson believes he's the first or the last celebrity asshat to be blown away in a GTA game, he's sadly deluded (but we knew that already).
...unless he can prove that Rockstar intends to threaten his person- rather than cause the entire player base to laugh their collective asses off at him- he's sunk.
...Thompson is already the laughingstock of the gaming community- and many of his colleagues, as well. Nobody at this point, barring a judge who's as insistently stupid and belligerent as Thompson, is going to take his word for it.
...he's made himself into the gaming industry's Public Enemy #1. That means that Rockstar- of all developers, Rockstar, one of the ones that never gave two shits about his ilk in the first place- is highly unlikely to give in to his blackmail (and make no mistake, blackmail is exactly what it is- threatening a consequence if a demand is not complied with). Of all companies, he had to go and pick on the one which most certainly will enter into a protracted legal battle with him if he persists, probably win and further ruin his already shit-tacular credibility, and very probably laugh their asses off doing it. I mean, come on- it's not as if this is the first time Thompson has tried to stamp out GTA and run into the cold hard brick wall that is reality.
Thanks for this, I needed a good laugh today. And as if I wasn't sure before, I'm definitely buying GTAIV the nanosecond it comes out on PC. This is gonna be bloody hilarious...

Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.
