Havin renegade problem read plz [message #280713]

K sooo problem is I open up renegade click multiplayer online/WOL/Advanced games listings and I get a "Requesting server lists" pop-up then bout a min after that pops up another one appears saying "Operation timed out." I've uninstalled/removed directory manualy/then reinstall it still didnt work..................................................WHAT DO I DO??!!! help me i wanna play sad.gif

1. check if firewall doesn't block the process (be sure windows firewall is off)

2. Can you copy-paste what's in your c:\windows\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts - file (open it with notepad)?

Edit: seems xwis was down (read http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php?t=msg&th=25722&start=0&rid=4 882) so it might just have been that.

umm i dunno where to check for my windows firewall :S and i can copy n paste it where to tho :S and i dont think it had to do with XWIS cuz all my friends were playin and i still cant :S

Ok.

Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Select "Off (Not recommended" (You can ignore the "not recommended", Windows firewall is as much use as a hamster when it comes to protecting your PC)

As for the copy and paste, just upload the file, you'll notice a "File attachments" section on the posting page.

i dont have a windows firewall in my contol panel i looked but there isnt one on there and u meanin post it in here or what ?
