Second: More specific please. Whats it doing? A full delete all and re-install usually fixes everything if you are not getting a specific error.

the error is it says renegade has stopped working looking for a solution then windows cannot find a solution do i need anything for it to make it run

If you have a shortcut on your desktop for Renegade, Right click it, Go to the compatibility tab, Click the box, and in the drop-down menu, Choose "Windows XP Service Pack 2".

Also, index.php?t=getfile&id=4082&rid=21684

Nvm that, come back in a few years and you will get it.

As for vista, yes it is possible but troubleshooting will have to wait until someone who actually uses vista gets online to help you out.
