Okay, So i just got finished installing BF2, After the installation it told me to restart my pc..

So I closed down all my program's, etc, then restarted my pc..

At the boot screen my fans just started going nuts! First thing I did was try to turn my pc off via button, but it didn't turn off.. (I holded the button on for a good second or 2), then, I jumped out my chair and ran for the plug and pulled them out!!

So here's me like what the fuck?, I opened the side of my pc and cleaned my fans out from the dust bunnies and checked to see if anything was melting, but thank god nothing was!

I'm wondering, has this happened to anyone else? Was my system overheating? If so should I leave it over night and try again tomorrow?

Also, One of the wires for my fan was twisted (I know I didn't do it), is that safe?
Here's a video of it!

Oh, And how could I forget? Fucking EA. :p

Hmm..

I'll re-render it just for you CarrierII! Wink

Video in .WMV format!

EDIT: How do fans work again?

Do they make hot air go out or cold air come in?

Depends which way they are facing... Exhaust fans blow hot air out, cooling fans blow cool air in. But you can hook most fans up either way around, so they could blow inward or outward.

Generally most cases have a fan at the front sucking air in, and another at the back blowing air out.

I have 2 fans, One cools the CPU down and another just in-front of it sticking out the back, Fuck!

I forgot what way they go!..

I just shot myself in the foot here. Sad

A lot of fans have arrows on the plastic case to show which direction they blow air in.

And if you take a sheet of paper, and put it where the fan should be blowing air out, it should make the paper move (how I tested my rear fans were going the right way)

I think it was a temp overheating problem, I left my pc off overnight and things seem to be fine.. For now. D:

Meh, I hope to move to using 4 80MM and one 600RPM 25CM (Very Happy) fan for intake and two 80MM fans and an exhaust unit for exhaust.

exhaust fan at the back is the most important to have.

Preferable a In-take fan and a out-take fan..

some cases have optimzed airflow example the antec 900

which has a in-take out-take and a huge blow hole ( Fan at the top of the case) heat rises.. downside of a blow hole is the dust that it gathers.

As for wires getting into the fanny make sure you have a couple of tai ribs to organize the cables in your case.

Having lots of fans aint so pretty - unless you like the sound of a personal hurricane Smile

Previously I had a thermaltake case, which had many fans. I unplugged every fan and left the CPU, GPU and exhaust at the back. The temperature didnt change however it was a lot quieter.

If you're trying to cool very hot hardware, go liquid, or stop trying to overclock the old stuff and buy something newer.

No, the fans are pretty quiet, and I'm not overclocking at all. Surprised

It's the hard drives, they're all stuck together (all four of them) so they just get hot.

Well, I never minded the fan the noise.. as my speakers usually go louder Big Grin

But if you want to have a quiet PC, there is various of PSU, 12cm fans. which are alot more quiet:)
