Here...

Bottleneck means (in this case) that the graphics card can handle more data than the CPU etc can give to it, wasting the card's potential rendering power, and thus wasting your money, as you paid for more power than it can actually use.

Edit gone >_>

Anyway: the chips

Dane-Elec

PC3200U - 30331 - EO 1 GB DDR PC3200 CL3
Made in China M368L2923DUN - CCC 0728

My Mobo Supports 333 Mhz and 400 Mhz, Doesnt support Registered Chips. The Chips are Double Sided so i think 16x 64 MB

its an MSI (Micro Star) MS-7071 (PM8M2-V) Motherboard btw

Chip Details ( 16 in total, 8 a side ) -->

SAMSUNG 728
K4H510838D - UCCC -

H51 8 ZPQ708BBC

And my Mobo =

You used to be able to tell if a module was low or high density by if it was single or double sided, but not so much anymore. It can be either. Usually Non-ECC and non-registered is low density, becuase high density and registered and ECC are things memory for servers will have, but try and find out anyway. You need low density memory. What is the return policy of that vendor?

I don't know if they ship where you are, but crucial.com has a policy to guarantee compatibility, and they have a scanner on their site to find memory that will work. It is quite expensive though in turn. Also, eBay, if you would be willing, has alot of vendors seeling DDR1 PC3200 RAM (what you need) for relatively cheap. I've seen low density 2x 1GB modules going for $85 before shipping. I have 1GB now (4x 256MB modules) and was thinking of grabbing one to up myself to 2.5GB.

What I do is run Crucial's scanner, then go find a module with the same stats for less on some other site. Smile

According to internet scanners, they need to work on my pc ( they are low density, found out with a tutorial on ebay for buyers of RAM ) but they dont Neutral according to crucial i got the same as they say, only a other brand. I have read some forums, and some1 had the same. Sites said it could work on his Mobo, also, the included ram was 400 Mhz 512, yet buying other 400 Mhz 1 Gig Sticks didnt worked. he then bought stick of 333 Mhz, and they worked, so im gonna exchange the 400 Mhz ones for 2 333 Mhz ( as my mobo also supports those ) and hope they work Smile.

Does your CPU have an 800MHz FSB? If so, you're going to reduce performance by using the slower RAM. 800MHz FSB CPUs run RAM at 400MHz (PC3200), and 533MHz FSB CPUs run the RAM at 333MHz (PC2700). Now if you have a CPU that uses a 533MHz FSB, the RAM will run at 333MHz, even if it's rated to run at 400MHz, so then it wouldnt matter what you get.

Edit: This is just based off of a VERY quick check on Google, but it looks like the 2.93GHz Pentium4 CPUs have a 533MHz FSB, which makes sense since 800MHz FSB CPUs have an even number for it's frequency, like 2.8GHz or 3.0GHz and not 2.93GHz (due to the way multipliers and FSB works out). So you should be okay getting the PC2700 without worrying about loss of performance.

Had Vacation job, but i did some Searching

i have a fortron PSU with 350 Wattage, som seller today told me they had some PSU's, Huntkey and X Gear, are those nice brands? i was thinking of getting an corsair or fortron, with 450 wattage or above, price can be 120-180 Euro ( srry, i live in Europa ) Besides this im getting 2 DDR 400 mhz Sticks of 1024 MB ram ( its possible on my motherboard--> yay for Dual ) and prolly an SApphire Radeon X1950 pro, but are the other good brans for the x1950 pro? i heard 3D club isnt that good, MSI could be ok, or pure Ati, but i heard Sapphire was the most common and good working one.

Get the Corsair PSU. Huntkey is decent, fortron is decent, but nothing spectaculair.

As for the VGA, go with MSI or Saphire, look at the cooling ( Which one looks better and see if the ram on the VGA all have heatsinks/ good heat disposal.

I vote for Antec psu's. Quality psu for a reasonable cost

gotta love the antec neoHE it is probably on of the best PSU's of Antec out there.

Quote:

Make sure you get the +12V rating on the PSU too. The minimum should be 18A, ideally 20A or above. That's more important these days than total wattage. The truth is, even 300-350 watts would be enough for MOST PCs, as long as it's a good brand/quality and has a beefy +12V rail(s). I've never heard of Huntkey or X Gear. Corsair makes decent RAM, but I don't know about PSUs, becuase I didn't know they made them. Fortron makes decent PSUs. If you have 120-180 to spend though, I'm not sure what that is in dollars, but 120-180 dollars could get a really high end PSU to give you an idea.

This is very true

Btw: Corsair PSU's are made specially for Corsair by Seasonic.

Seasonic makes superb and quite PSU's

From what I read on the MSI site, your motherboard doesn't support Dual Channel mem.

Bottleneck? and i will post the brand of the Ram, they were €75 a piece, and srry, but im Dutch, Whats densetity? i know what it means but what does it mean with RAM Memmory?.

That's alot of money..

You can get 2x 1 GB Corsair, Kingston for 95 euro's if you order it with a webshop. 6,50 postal package.

I just checked on the MSI website
If this is your motherboard..
http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=pM8M-v&class=mb

Then this is the memory test report on your motherboard.

http://global.msi.com.tw/uploads/test_report/TR10_205.pdf

Which memory did you buy?

Most motherboards like to eat Kingston, Corsair too, but most of the time Kingston works, both have lifetime warranty

Last but not least ( might be something to consider)

Alternate.nl has a nice Upgrade set right now.

Intel Core 2 Duo ""Conroe L" for 1.8ghz
1 GB mem
Mortherboard by Foxconnn
150 euro's

Even though it's low end step in model sys. It would blow away what you have now. And that for the price of the 2x 1GB sticks you plan on buying.

Get a nice PSU with that, and a PCI express card which is fairly cheaper then a Mid end AGP Card...

Maybe a bump again, anyway, i returned the ram and stuff, cause it just wasn't working. According to the shopkeeper i probably needed/need to flash my BIOS (?). Also, I still didn't bought the GC or the PSu, but according to some1 who i know (who works with computers) is that the GC(graphic Card) could work on lower PSU wattage, but your PSU needed to be a good 1. I forgot which 1 had ATM (as i opened my case 2 months ago) but im fairly sure it was in the brand list which had quality (i will open it this weekend probably to clean dust). Is that true? i heard the lifetime of the GC and even your hole PC could go down if the PSU didn't supply enough wattage and volt to your GC card ( just supply it). I will repost again this weekend after i opened the case (as im just to lazy to do it now + school soon :\).
