Renegade account/new game CD question [message #279546]

Hello,

I am wondering what would happen if my current Renegade CD breaks or does not work. If I buy a new copy of the game, will I be able to access my "Starbuzz" account from the new game CD?

I am asking because my current Renegade CD took a lot of heavy scratch damage in a recent accident. Fortunately, it still works but I am still worried. Dont Get It

Please help! Thank you.

While what gozy said is very much true, if you buy a new copy of Renegade and for some reason you need to reinstall Ren but you use your new CD-Key. You will NOT beable to reset the password for the account registered on the old CD-Key.

No problem, personally i'd just use a no-cd crack. No worries about a broken CD unless you plan to reinstall.

Ooo...that's nice. That's a better idea than buying a new game. That way I can save my damaged CD (since it works) and use it only if I need to reinstall. Thanks!

Core patch 2 came with a no - cd patch. So if u have it, u don't need the cd. Just click 'cancel' when it prompts for it.

If you are really worried about this, you could always take your currect Game discs, use a program like Clone CD to make an image of them, and use a program like Daemon Tools to mount the image. If you are worried about this anyways...
