Ok, the original leveledit will start up for me, but when i go to conversations and double-click the folders 'globals' or the other folder, it does nothing

so, i go download jonwil's and paste it over the original, and now every time it starts up i get an error...i've tried it with 'disable visual themes' and without that

help Sad

Using original renegade or first decade?
Using any kind of script loader? (see this one a lot lately)
Disable visual themes AND advanced text services.
Make sure that you are indeed putting the leveledit in the correct folder, a lot of people say they replaced the original but what they really mean is that they extracted it to their desktop Eh

EDIT:

Make sure that you don't have the scripts folder in the mod package anymore, Jonwil's will read them right out of the install directory.

Using First Decade Renegade, everything works perfectly including gamespy, renguard, etc (don't have renguard though)

I unzipped jonwil's version to "C:\Program Files\RenegadePublicTools\LevelEdit" Wink

disabled text services as well this time

where's the scripts folder you're talking about?

it still gives me the same error

edit - if you wanna get on msn, i can talk to you there

Can anyone confirm that JW's works fully with FD?

Only remove the scripts folder if you had put scripts in you mod package for your map. Other wise they wont even be there Wink

EDIT2: Welp im off to bed, hopefully someone will be here to help you because I'm starting a 5 day weekend from school and I plan to spend most of tomorrow sleeping Smile

I had that problem. it is Final Decade.
Go to run

type in regedit

Then find This:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Westwood > Renegade

Then on the right, What Does Install Path Say? If its Incorrect.
Double Click it and replace it with This:

C:\C&C First Decade\Command & Conquer Renegade(tm)\Renegade\renegade.exe

Change The location If Its not in your C drive.
